Home · Floor Care
Floor care by surface, not by habit.
Carpet and hard floors cleaned to the handling rule for the material, with a maintenance rhythm recommended for the surface you have.

The surface decides the method.
Most floor damage done by cleaning is done by using the wrong thing on the right floor. Sealed stone and unsealed stone behave differently. Timber reacts to water. Vinyl and LVT scratch. Carpet holds a stain long after the fibre looks dry.
So we ask what the floor is before we quote, and the method follows from the answer rather than from what is on the van.
| Surface | How it is worked | Maintenance rhythm we would suggest |
|---|---|---|
| Carpet | Vacuumed edge to edge, spot-treated as agreed, pile lifted; deeper work where the scope calls for it | Regular vacuuming, periodic deeper treatment |
| Sealed hard stone | Ph-neutral cleaning, no acids or abrasives; resealing recommended when the surface stops beading | Regular mopping, reseal when the finish dulls |
| Unsealed or porous stone | Minimal water, product matched to the stone, no acidic agents, no aggressive scrubbing | Gentle regular cleaning, specialist reseal when needed |
| Timber and engineered boards | Damp rather than wet, surface-appropriate cleaner, dried as worked | Regular dry care, periodic surface treatment |
| Vinyl and LVT | Non-abrasive cleaner, no steel wool or scouring pads, edges and joints lifted of grit | Regular mopping, protective finish where specified |
| Tiles and grout | Surface cleaned on every visit, grout treated periodically rather than every time | Regular cleaning, periodic grout attention |
| Strip and polish | Old finish removed, floor cleaned back, new coats applied and allowed to cure | Recoated on a cycle set by foot traffic |
Nothing here is a claim about a brand or a certification. It is the handling rule for each surface type, and it is why we ask what the floor is made of before quoting.
